Thats right I said it in the title, “I HAVE AN ADDICTION.” The first step is to admit and while most of you will find this misleading my addiction simply relates to the game of Madden. Sure I should be reading a book in my free time but I’m not a fan of reading books. So when I get free time I turn on the Playstation and I play Madden. My favorite feature of madden is the franchise mode where you can build your team and execute the game plan you develop. This can be done through a fantasy draft (where you start at square one and are able to draft any player you want) which is my favorite, or this can be done through picking up a franchise that is already updated with current NFL rosters.
My madden team continues to be repeat superbowl champions and I continue to build this success through trades and drafts. I get to create and manage my team, scout and add new players that will help my team win and all while managing a salary cap.
I like to look at madden as on the job training, except I never play on the job. This is exactly what I do in my current job as the general manager at the Country Inn River Falls. While at work I often feed my addiction and relate Read the rest of I HAVE AN ADDICTION »
It has been almost a year since my last blog post when I discussed the opportunities that I was given in River Falls Wisconsin. Since that post the owners of the hotel made a big decision to forego the GrandStay franchise and become an independent property. This was a large overtaking by myself and Central Group Companies but we did it and have created a nice independent brand that continues to improve and become better.
Even though this has been a big week for me in the hotel industry I’m going to save my experiences and lessons learned from the GrandStay Hospitality Brand Forum for next week. This week I want to talk about the struggling Kansas City Chiefs. People have been asking me what is going on with them, while they are still in the playoff hunt due to a weak division I want to glance at what to expect next year.
Before you can decide what changes need to be made you need to first notice where the team is at right now. With the injuries to the Chiefs this year missing Tight End – Tony Moeaki, Saftey – Eric Berry, and Running Back – Jamaal Charles the areas of improvement are more noticeable.
Well it has been a while since I’ve posted on my blog. Alot has changed and things are going great. I have been pursuing my passion for hotels and was fortunate to become part of a great management group that is providing me a great opportunity with future growth potential. Central Group Companies a St. Cloud Minnesota based hotel management company has experienced much success and is still looking to grow. Founder of Central Group Companies, Bob Pace is a person that I personally view as a mentor and have learned a great deal from in only 5 months and still have alot to learn from him.
